There has been an explosion of new and exciting places to eat in the area.  This is a list of places to eat mostly with a half hour's drive or so of the cabins. 

Bala Awel yr Aran - Homemade, traditional, British food using local Welsh produce.

Pale Hall - The style of cooking is British and French modern and classic cuisine.

Barmouth

Bistro Bermo, Church Street - Featured in the Le Routiers Guide 2007.  Winners of Le Routiers "Locally Produced Food Supports in Wales" Award.  "Taste of Wales" approved.  "We take great pride in our food, especially in our Vegetarian and Fish Boards".  See their website for up-to-date menu examples.

Llwyndu Farmhouse Restaurant - This restaurant has a good reputation for their  food and Peter's cooking utilises a range of styles both traditional and modern but with an essential Mediterranean influence. Being in Wales we also make use of some very fine Welsh produce which is gaining increasing recognition for its quality.

Zen Thai - The restaurant offers a wide range of authentic dishes from Thailand and Japan.  The main restaurant area has panoramic views across the terrace to the beach and mountains beyond.  Outdoor dining area.  Large groups catered for.  Thai cooking classes available.  Special Offer for February and March - 2 meals for the price of one.  Download voucher off their website.

Blaenau Ffestiniog Bistro Moelwyn - Lunchtime and evening menu.  Organic and local seasonal food where possible.  Entry in the 2010 Good Food Guide.  Views of the Moelwyns

DeNiros - Licensed Cafe Restaurant.  Light lunchtime menu.  Traditional evening food.  Open 9am - 9pm Monday to Saturday.  On main A470 in centre of town - near Pelican crossing.  Phone 07901 825270

Bronaber Rhiw Goch Inn - Our local inn.  The Rhiw Goch has a large dining room and 2 bars.  Within walking distance of Cadair View Lodge (around 5 minutes walk but up steep hill - good for coming back down!!).  See history of Rhiw Goch** Special Offer -  From now until end of March 2010 - Monday through Thursday 2 meals for the price of 1 **
Criccieth Poachers Restaurant - The menu features international cuisine made with the freshest local Welsh ingredients.  Daily fish specials and vegetarian dishes available.
Dolgellau Bwyty Dylanwad Da Restaurant - Bistro style in the middle of the town.  Phone 01341 422 870

Bwyty Mawddach - Combining stunning traditional and contemporary design with unparalleled panoramic views over Mawddach estuary and Cader Idris mountain range, Mawddach Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience.

Penmaenuchaf Hall - The emphasis here is on Contemporary British Food with an emphasis on flavour and careful presentation.   The restaurant has its own vegetable and herb garden.

The Winter Garden Restaurant at Dolserau Hall Hotel.  Menus include a wide range of seasonal, local ingredients.

Y Meirionnydd - In the centre of Dolgellau.  A cosy restaurant oozing friendly, relaxed atmosphere.  Located in a 17th Century cellar but you will receive a very warm welcome.  Specialising in straightforward dishes that are beautifully cooked with the minimum of fuss.  Open every day for breakfast but best to call for evening opening hours.

Fairbourne Indiana Cusine - Now fully licensed. Owned and run by Noorie, the wife of Bollywood superstar Mayur Verma (Raj). Don't be surprised if this celebrity turns up at your table to discuss the food.   No website as yet but read this article from Daily Post  Phone 01341 250891
Ganllwyd The Shelley Restaurant at Dolmelynllyn Hall Hotel

Tyn-y-Groes Hotel - A cosy, country inn run by Derek, Linda and their family.  Two dining rooms seating 28 and 34 people so a great place to go if there is a large group of you.  Two bars, conservatory and beer garden.  Within easy taxi distance of Cadair View Lodge (approx 5 miles each way).

Harlech Castle Cottage - 5 Star restaurant - Winner of WalesTrue Taste Eating Out in Wales Award 2008/9.  Overlooks Harlech Castle

Cemlyn Tea Shop - Winner of the Tea Council's "Award of Excellence" every year since 2003.  A lovely place to stop for a while with views of Harlech Castle, the Beach, the Sea and beyond.  Sit out on the balcony in the Summer months.  Room available for private dining.  They also sell a range of teas from around the World, plus teapots, art, guide books and preserves.  Don't forget to say "hello" to Geoff and Jan for us!!

Maes-y-Neuadd - Recognised by all of the major guide books as one of the best Welsh restaurants

The Plas Restaurant - Situated on the High Street it's frontage gives little indication of the elegant restaurant within.  Another restaurant in Harlech that has magnificent views. 

Llanberis

The famous Pete's Eats.  Great food for when you're starving.  Food is home cooked and home made.  Drinks come in enormous mugs!  In the middle of the town - you won't miss it.
Maentwrog

** between Trawsfynydd and Porthmadog **

The Grapes Hotel - Well known locally for it's great food - both pub grub and a la carte!  The Bar boasts a large selection of award winning cask conditioned Real Ales, produced by their sister company Evan-Evans Brewery in Llandeilo.  They offer one of the finest ranges of beer to be found anywhere in Wales.
Porthmadog

Allports Fish + Chip Restaurant - Award winning fish and chips

Yr Hen Fecws - The menu has a delicious mix of imaginative and traditional meals, created by blending the best local produce with flavours from around the World.

Portmeirion Castell Deudraeth Bar & Grill - Set within the grounds of Portmeirion.  The emphasis is informal dining using fresh local produce (including seafood).

Portmeirion Hotel Dining Room - Beautiful location looking out onto the estuary.  Holds one AA rosette.  With a new Head Chef taking over from August 2008 it is best to contact the restaurant for a sample menu.

Talyllyn Cader Restaurant - Within the Minffordd Hotel at the base of Cader Idris.

Tyn y Cornel - Sister hotel to The Grapes at Maentwrog.  Spectacular location right on the lake (which, incidentally, it owns)

Tremadog The Golden Fleece - Just outside of Porthmadog.  Check their website for special deals
