Doing Something Unusual
We know that very often it's not the price of accommodation that makes a holiday un-affordable but more what will be spent during the holiday. This is especially true when there are children who need entertaining or who are being tempted by ice creams, attractions and gift shops. In this series of blogs we look at ways to keep the spending down by suggesting things that will help keep what you spend to a reasonable level and things that can be done for FREE.
Holidays are about different experiences and making memories. The things that you do don't have to be sophisticated just different and done together. Maybe Mum and Dad don't usually join in with things or there are lots of times when "don't" is used.
How about doing something simple that you don't usually do? Everybody put their wellies on and go and splash in puddles (or pools on the beach) or maybe take your shoes off and do it (if you're somewhere suitable). When did you all last walk in the rain? Not something that some people tend to do any more. Rain drops on your nose? Dodge the spots? Get rain drops in your mouth? (Our rain is usually pretty clean stuff).
Think of other things that are usually not done... I'm sure that there are lots. Make it fun and take photos.
